Progeo builds unique ultralight wheelchairs, intended to represent the personality of the users.
Products that are no longer to be used, but to be worn to strengthen the conviction of feeling okay in every place, in everyday life, in relationships, in any area. Progeo represents for 3CAD one of the longest-standing customers using a full web solution.
Why change was needed
For more than 26 years Progeo, based in Castagnole di Paese (TV), has been building unique and ultralight wheelchairs intended to reflect the personality of the user, ensuring they feel secure and confident. Since pairing up with Swedish mobility giant, Permobil AB, Progeo has gone from strength to strength, becoming a global player with more than 6,000 employees, and developing the most cutting-edge and beautifully designed manual mobility aids.
Having been with 3CAD since 2012, Progeo is one of our longest-standing customers. From small beginnings when Progeo had just 16 of its designs modelled, the company now has its whole range configured, within which are hundreds of possible solutions.
3CAD has enabled Progeo to streamline and scale up their modelling processes, allowing for faster order acquisitions and boosting sales significantly. This has only grown and accelerated further since the introduction of 3CAD Evolution. Going from a tabular–only management software, without visual indications, to a software solution with the ability to visualise all the elements in 360 has been a game changer for them and their customers.
Order confirmation has been simplified, with instant visual feedback to the order processing agent. This has radically streamlined and shortened the steps from order request to fulfilment. Lead times have been slashed by using 3CAD, as it allows the user to send orders to production with a single click, while automatically generating bills of materials and assembly instructions.
As well as 3CAD Evolution, Progeo has until 2017 utilised 3CAD Lite, which enables agencies and health facilities to customise their own products. 3CAD Lite further extends the possibility of configuration by making it easy for end customers to design their own solutions and have those specified directly to the Progeo factory.
How change happened
As Progeo works with public authorities and health institutions, where IT systems can be outdated, they decided to take on 3CAD Next in 2017. This enabled them to take advantage of an entirely cloud-based system that would ensure their users could use the most up-to-date version whenever they logged in.
End-users even have the option to configure their own wheelchair on the Progeo website. This gives them the freedom to create a customised product that fits their needs and style, which has optimised Progeo’s sales.
With Progeo, 3CAD has taken a departure from its comfort zone – taking our knowledge from the furniture industry and applying it in this totally different context, demonstrating the almost endless applications for 3CAD when it comes to efficient production and design.
With Progeo we’ve also had the chance to implement and experience the totally web-based solution, 3CAD Next and overcome all the issues that came with a user network that did not have the ability to easily update their IT systems.
